Ellie Jane Goulding was born in Hereford England on December 30 1986. Tracey Goulding Summers worked as a grocery clerk. Arthur Goulding, the father of Ellie Jane Goulding worked as an undertaker. Goulding's older sister Isabel, and second sister Jordan have children. Alex is her brother. Alex, her brother is a bass player as well as a Hereford Band member. At the beginning of her life she was encouraged to pursue a career in music by her mom. The clarinet was her first instrument as she was nine years old. She began writing herself songs around 14 years old, but it wasn't until she was in college that she started to pursue writing songs. Goulding's passion for electronic music started when she was pursuing her education. By using MySpace, she was able to contact Frankmusik who assisted her in creating her folktronica. The singer was discovered at this time by Scout Jamie Lillywhite, who initially served as her manager before becoming A.&R. at a university talent contest. Lillywhite later connected her to Starsmith an artist producer who was instrumental in her November 15th, 2009 release of Under The Sheets. Starsmith later collaborated on Lights. She was signed to Polydor Records even though Under the Sheets had been released by the independent record label Neon Gold Records. Pisces, she was born 20th February 1966 at DeKalb Illinois. Her mother was Jennifer Sue and her father is Dan Crawford. Crawford is of German English, and French descent. She launched the Cindy Crawford Home Collection, an assortment of furniture in the same year.
